I suppose they had to call it something, but "Phone Clamp Adapter" is way too restrictive of a name for this series of accessory arms. I have both the AM-1 and AM-4 versions and they are both very versatile accessories to use with your tripod. The arm can either be screwed directly into the tripod, if there is a 1/4" mounting point (as there is on my Leofoto LS-284CEX) or they can be attached to a general purpose clamp (like the MC-60) and attached to any tripod leg, or pretty much anything within the size range of the clamp. I specifically use my AM-1 arm with a PC-90II clamp to hold an Anker battery to power my camera during tethered shooting. Works perfectly to hold this heavy battery without any slippage.
