The Leofoto G4 Four Way Geared Head is a precision tripod head designed for photographers who require exact framing and controlled movement. It features a top-mounted 360° panning clamp with Arca-Swiss compatibility, allowing smooth panoramic rotation directly at the camera level, while a separate 360° panning base at the bottom enables precise alignment with the horizon or tripod position. Two integrated bubble levels, arranged at 90° angles, provide clear and accurate leveling from virtually any shooting angle, even when working close to the ground.
Combining the flexibility of a ball head with the accuracy of a 3D geared head, the G4 allows independent control of the X and Y axes. When both axes are released, the camera can be repositioned freely; when one axis is locked, highly precise adjustments can be made on the remaining axis. This makes the head especially suitable for architectural, landscape, and studio photography.
The design places the centers of rotation for the X and Y tilts at the same point, resulting in a minimal pivoting radius. This helps maintain perspective and framing during fine adjustments, which is particularly beneficial for stitched panoramas and critical composition work.
A self-locking shock-absorption mechanism helps counterbalance camera weight during tilt movements. With the locking levers engaged, the G4 provides gear-driven vertical and horizontal adjustments for fine control, while quick-release clutches allow fast, large repositioning when needed.
