Leofoto G4PROM Geared Head – Newest Release with GR-3 Precision Panning Adapter
The Leofoto G4PROM is the newest release in the G4 geared head series, designed for photographers who need precise control when adjusting composition. Building on the popular G4 Pro platform, the G4PROM introduces the upgraded GR-3 geared panning adapter with a larger extended precision knob, providing improved grip and finer adjustment control.
Tilt and pivot your camera in three-dimensional space with the G4PROM, which combines the advantages of a ball head and a 3D geared head in one compact system. When both the X- and Y-axes are unlocked, the camera can move freely for quick composition changes. Unlike a traditional ball head, however, the axes can also be adjusted individually for extremely precise positioning.
The design places the center of rotation of the X- and Y-tilts in the same location, keeping the pivot radius small and helping maintain perspective during adjustments. This makes the G4PROM particularly useful for landscape, architectural, macro, and studio photography where precise framing is essential.
A self-locking shock-absorption system helps compensate for the camera's weight, allowing smoother and more controlled movements. When the locking levers are engaged, the head offers precision gear-driven vertical and horizontal adjustments, while quick-release clutches allow for faster large-angle repositioning when needed.
The G4PROM also features dual 360° panning control. The base panning allows you to level the camera platform, while the geared panning at the clamp provides precise panoramic alignment. Two spirit levels positioned at 90° angles beneath the upper panoramic adjustment make leveling easy, even from a low viewing position.
