All of the other grips I've seen on the market are not L grips. I don't think the camera really needs a grip to simply hold it, but of course an L grip gives you both horizontal and vertical tripod options, which is why I got it. Leofoto makes great stuff, and this grip matches that quality. The only caveat is that the left hand part of the bracket is slightly tight for accessing the left hand port door on the camera, which I would only use for the Fuji wired remote. Since there is a Fuji remote app I don't see this as a major issue.
