My OM-1 II kit is for those situations in which I cannot carry a Nikon Z8 or Z9 kit due to size and/or weight considerations. For the Nikon kit and non-footed lenses, I use a rotator that has an AS clamp for the body and has an AS polate that fits into the AS clamp on the tripod head. For the same purpose without carrying the rotator, I needed an L-plate with full access to all of the doors on an OM-1 II. I use the Cotton Carrier system, and thus need to mount a Cotton hub to the L-plate such that the hub will not interfere with access, say to the battery door. The Leofoto OM-1 L-plate was the only one of the available L-plates that met all of these criteria because it has a 1/4-20 mounting hole appropriate for a Cotton hub. The quality seems fine as well; for long/heavy lenses, a L-plate is not needed because such lenses have a collar with a foot that rotates about the optic axis. However, for scenics with wide angle lenses, a L-plate is needed.
