The brand new version of the Ranger Series, the Leofoto LS-284CEXX Carbon Fiber Tripod improves upon the classic Leofoto Ranger Series tripods with the latest technology. This model features angle stops have also been improved to be more ergonomic. This new angle stop design allows for one handed operation for convenience.

The LS-CEXX Series of tripods differ from other LS-X Ranger Series carbon fiber tripods due to the incorporated leveling base. This feature makes this tripod suitable for videoconferencing, low perspective, and panoramic photography. The tripod head can be adjusted for horizontal orientation after the tripod has been positioned for the shot without having to individually adjust the legs. *Leveling base is incorporated to the apex and cannot be removed.

Leofoto LS-284CEX X Version Tripod with Integrated Leveling Head

I bought my first tripod many years ago for my DSLR system. It was a GITZO 3000 series. The mirrored DSLRs need a heavy and sturdy tripod to absorb the mirror slab.
This is no longer necessary for modern mirrorless cameras. After researching several alternatives, I selected Leofoto’s quality and the accessories available.
The LS-284CEX is lightweight. It can be packed in my luggage for travel. It supports my Sony 600 mm f/4.0 lens with the A1 attached on a fluid head. My equipment is about 6 Kg (13 pounds). The LS-284CEX is rated at 10 Kg (22 pounds). The leveling head holds the camera and lens with ease.

I have the old version of the Ranger Tripod I wanted a second one and noticed it was a little lighter and low smaller, which is great. They’re great tripods.
