I had seen these tripod clamps but didn't really know what they were for until I watched a video about several inexpensive must-have photography accessories. I was able to pair these with the Leofoto studs that screw into the side of the tripod head base (or any 1/4" x 20 female thread). I already have several straps, so I simply had to buy some QD D-rings. Now I can easily sling my tripod over my shoulder if wanting to go for a hike and stay light, but still have my tripod available if needed. I like this system so much I'm probably going to buy Lefoto's Arca Swiss clamp with the QD port to use with my camera sling.
If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be to include a couple of thin strips of rubber with adhesive that can be attached to the clamp, in case the tripod leg diameter is just a little small.
The QD port should be standardized among all tripods, camera cages, l-brackets and base plates. If they can put a dozen 1/4" and 3/8" screw holes, they can put at least one QD port.
