I really like this head.
Both the tilt and pan functions are really smooth.
When locking in the tilt, the camera doesn't sag after locking it in like happens with most ball heads.
I also really like that the handle/arm is used to adjust/set the angle and pan of the head rather than having to mess with an additional knob and having a fixed handle the is just used to move the camera.
The only issue I had with it is that with my tripod, I cannot get the full tilt backwards due to the size of my tripod. This is not an issue of the head, rather it is an issue of the size of my tripod mounting plate.
The things I would like to see with this head are:
1. A quick clamp head rather than a screw knob for attaching the camera.
2. A tension adjustment for the pan function.
For me and my usage it pans too easily unless completely locked. If you do a lot of panning, then this is probably a benefit and not an issue.
Overall, if I had a smaller tripod mounting plate and needed the fast pan ability, I would purchase this again without hesitating.
