Description
The Leofoto MPQ Series Monopods include all of the same great features found on the MP Series monopods and combines them with the latest premium quality carbon fiber of the LQ Series tripods and the water-proof twist leg locks from the LP/LA Sea Series tripods. The MPQ monopods are constructed with Leofoto's latest 3rd generation carbon fiber with increased density and a new "snow capped mountain pattern" inspired by nature. Featuring a durable rubber grip and wrist strap for security, the MPQ Series monopod is capable of supporting cameras with large telephoto lenses. The rubber foot prevents it from sliding on smooth surfaces, but is also removable and can be replaced with a separately available steel claw, spike, or other Leofoto accessory to facilitate the best traction for any given terrain. When not in use, turn the ergonomic twist leg locks to collapse the support down and pack it in the included carrying case. The threaded mounting stud on the top of the monopod features a convertible 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 screw, making it universal for most cameras and lenses.

The monopod was larger than I expected and that size provides a great deal of stability. There's virtually no flex in the monopod even when fully extended.
I haven't tried the water-proof capability but everything seems pretty well secured.
Make sure you tighten the legs well or they can start to collapse.

I recenlty purchased this Monopod and boy was I surprised by the quality of the monopod as well as the provided case. I love the twist locks they are so smooth and work well. The carbon fiber design is quite good looking. I combined the monopod with the Leofoto MPG-01 Monopod Head and it works very well for my needs. I did wrap the handle with bicycle handlebar cork which give the handle a better grip.
The monopod was everything I was expecting it to be. The finish on the product was excellent, the monopod carrying case is beautiful. Very pleased with my purchase. Giving it a real-life test out in the wild, the twist locks worked perfectly, just what I would have expected.
